Castaway Diva Episode 2 Recap deals with the coincidence and faith. Where is Jung Ki-Ho? and now that Seo Mok-Ha is back to real life , how will she cope up considering educational and generational gap she has?
The story moves to Seoul – Brothers’ Salon. They have put the third floor for rent. We are introduced to two Guys of The Family – Bo-Geol and Kang Woo-Hak.
Bo-Geol , younger brother is responsible one. Kang Woo-Hak , the elder brother has a laidback attitude. On Breakfast table , he shows up in underwear. His things are all over the place.
Both the brothers fight over the sleeping arrangement. The father fawns over Woo-Hak whereas the mother fawns over Bo-Geol. Anyways , in the end , after a morning which goes on with bickering between two siblings , they decide to head over for volunteering work of trash collection on the nearby island.
It seems , Woo-Hak just wants to pass his time and rather than doing any actual work. He is busy flying his drone camera while Bo-Geol and another friend of theirs do the actual work.
This is one of those moment of Drone Flying when his Drone comes face to face with Seo Mok-Ha. Seo Mok-ha chases after the drone. Kang Woo-Hak is shocked to see a human on the other side of island. He tries to fly the drone away faster but eventually the Drone ends up falling on ground. He is angry. He thinks of confronting the girl.
He runs towards the beach , all prepared to blast at her but she starts crying looking at him. She was happy to find a human being after such a long time. She hugs her and he does not know how to respond. The other guys also follow and sees the exchange.
Now , Seo Mok-Ha is back to Mainland.
She could not be found during search is because Search Party did not include this island during their search. Apparently, Korea has 2000 Islands and Pilji Island is 55km away from mainland. Our protagonist does not know anything about the changes that has happened in last 16 years. She is still a kid at heart. People look at her as if she is a person from different planet altogether.
Bo-Geol helps her with a shoe.
She starts crying at his kindness. Bo-Geol notices his brother is shooting a video of her. He warns his brother not to make her life a story for his news reporting. Even when he warns against it , Woo-Hak goes against Bo-Geol and publishes the story as a news report.Although , he chooses not to reveal her face.
Bo-Geol’s colleague tells him that he is a pushover since it is always Woo-Hak who goes against him. Bo-Geol says- “He is not a savage. If we are splitting hairs, It’s the other way around.”
He enters the recording room.
On the other hand , Woo-Hak reaches the place where Seo Mok-Ha is temporarily staying until rehabiliation. The Manager of The House tells him that Seo Mok-Ha is a 31 year old lady with a 16 year old mind. Her new ID Card has been reissued. Medical Examinations are done. She is fit and fine.
On the other hand , Seo Mok-Ha is gradually getting a hang on the country which has undergone so many changes in those years. she discovers the smartphone. She is astonished to learn that one caqn even watch TV on smartphone.
Kang Woo-Hak is taking her to her home in Chansum Island.
on her way, she sees a banner which advertizes that Ran-Joo is going to perform in some village festival. she gets emotioanl looking at her name. Yoon Ran-Joo.
They ride the boat together. He informs his supervisor that Seo Mok-Ha was actually running away from Home to meet an yester year star Yoon Ran-Joo sixteen years back. His story gets killed.
Upon reaching the island , Seo Mok-Ha is face to face with the harsh reality of situation.
Her house has been taken over by another fishermen neighbour. the Neighbour thinks that she has come to take hold of her place. They throw her out and Kang Woo-Hak defends Seo Mok-Ha stating that she is not dead and she has all the rights to take control of her place.
Seo Mok-Ha stops them and tells them that she is not here to take control of her own house. Rather she just wants to know what happened to Jung Ki-Ho.
Those Father-Son duo tells them that after she was considered dead , Jung Ki-ho always used to stare at water and on one fine day , he reported his father for domestic violence and finally ran away. His father was fired from his job and apparently he went to find out Jung Ki-Ho’s whereabouts. Right now , their house is one deserted place.
she looks at the same blue window wistfully. With Ki-Ho gone for so long , she decides to take a look inside the house. She finds a note which makes her belief strong that he is still alive. The note says – “if you wish for something with all your heart , one way or another , it will come true one day.” Kang Woo-Hak asks her whether she is not resentful about what Jung Ki-Ho did to her. she tells him that they ran away because they wanted to be alive.
If her father could get a hold of her that day , she would have been dead today. The tattered shoes that she is carrying with all her might , did belong to Jung Ki-Ho.
At the end of the day , She decides to leave the island to persue her dream. Kang Woo-Hak is dead against of it. She requests him with the ticket to mainland and tells him not to worry about her.
Although Kang Woo-Hak is initially annoyed , he tries to convince his family to let her stay at rooftop.
His Brother Bo-Geol is against of it. He suggests his mother that her salon is hiring and Seo Mok-Ha needs a place to stay. so everything fits well.
Finally at night , Seo Mok-Ha moves in. Both Woo-Hak and Seo Mok-Ha starts discussing Jung Ki-Ho.
She tells him that in mannerism , he is almost as same as Jung Ki-Ha. This makes Woo-Hak wonder where he is Jung Ki-Ho since he went through amnesia and also their dialect and age are same. Bo-Geol shrugs off his claims. There is a mystery here , can it really be possible that Kang Woo-Hak is indeed Jung Ki-Ho?
As for Ran-Joo, she is wasting her time away by drinking and smoking while reminiscing about her heydays. She is not left with any hope for her life. Whatever one or two odd festivals she gets called for , she decides to waste her time by showing up drunk on the stage. Anyway , she still has to attend Deodeok Village Festival though.
Meanwhile , Seo Mok-Ha gets ready to attend the same festival with the same kind of child like Zeal.
However , Kang Woo-Hak warns her the Ran-Joo is not the same idol she used to be. In the event , she distributed green coloured balloon to the entire audience since its Ran-Joo’s favourite color. She find out that Ran-Joo’s manager is looking for a backup singer and she decides to volunteer. Ran-Joo shows up wasted and worried that how she will perform in front of such crowd.
But her enthusiasm gets renewed when she sees the crowd in green colour. It reminds her of her heydays when her fans used to voluntarily dress up in green.
With Seo Mok-Ha , as an amazing backup singer and her renewed zeal , the performance is a resounding success.
She comes out and hugs to Seo Mok-Ha.
For her, Seo Mok-Ha has given her life back. For Seo Mok-Ha , it is a moment of euphoria to be hugged by the same person whom she idolizes as if the whole 15 years which was wasted in vain got the meaning all of sudden.
Meanwhile, Woo-Hak contemplates whether he himself is Jung Ki-Ho because their mother always says the same thing which Jung Ki-Ho mentions in his notes.
it seems that he is convinced that he is Jung Ki-Ho. he discusses this with Bo Gyeol but he shrugs it off. What is the actual truth?
